Prismacolor is a brand of artists' grade colour pencils.  They look like the pencil crayons we all used in grade school.  The difference is the quality.  Prismacolor pencils use the same pigments found in all other high grade artist media such as oil paint, acrylic paint, pastel, etc.  These pencils use a wax binder to carry the pigment.  They are a delight to use and are very durable.
